My Story

Rooted in history,

Past & Present Genealogy grew out of a genuine love of Scottish history and the stories that run through families — often hidden in plain sight within old records, faded registers, and forgotten documents.

Based in Ayrshire, I've spent years tracing family histories as a personal passion before taking that interest further with formal academic study. I hold a BA (Hons) with Distinction in History, a PGDE in Education, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies from the University of Strathclyde — giving me a solid grounding not just in how to find records, but how to read, interpret, and contextualise them properly.
